After earning her degree in Musical Theatre in the Netherlands, Sterre moved to Antwerp, Belgium, to pursue a second degree in Journalism. Guided by renowned documentarian Bram Crols, she specialised in video journalism.

 

During her internship at documentary production company Associate Directors, she deepened her understanding of storytelling as a powerful artistic and journalistic tool.

Her critical view of society and personal engagement with themes of identity and injustice come together in the documentary self-loving Jew.

 

In this project, Sterre explores the complexities of Jewish identity, intergenerational trauma, and solidarity with oppressed communities, blending the personal with the political in a thoughtful and honest way.
